Lee Evans eats Marianne Elliott's Olivier award for best director

Lee Evans stole the show last night, Sunday 28 April, when he presented the 2013 Olivier Award for Best Director to Marianne Elliott. Before Ms Elliott had a chance to accept the award, Lee ate his way through it, creating great hilarity in the audience at the Royal Opera House.

The specially made cake replicating the famous statuette of Laurence Olivier was created by Fat Cakes owner, Mia Tambini, a contemporary cake maker based in East Sussex. Fat Cakes specializes in bespoke cakes offering that extra special wow factor to make the celebration unique. Scroll down for a look at the cake!

Later this year, Lee will himself be making a welcome return to the West End stage in the premiere of Clive Exton's hilarious comedy Barking in Essex, starring alongside Sheila Hancock, Keeley Hawes, Karl Johnson and Montserrat Lombard. Clive Exton's comedy, BARKING IN ESSEX, starring Evans, Sheila Hancock, Keeley Hawes, Karl Johnson and Montserrat Lombard will premiere at Wyndham's Theatre on Monday 16 September 2013, following previews from 6 September.
